La Route des Art - much nicer in the sunshine

St Flavie cathedral
And adjoining cemetery
The walk with the stone people which are part of Marcel Gagnon's installation sculptures
Walking out of the water
And even a dog sculpture is part of the procession
A beautifully carved drift wood sculpture that invites you to sit and be part of the art
And farther down the street, atwo more of Marcel Gagnon's pieces

The sign and drift art outside of a house, studio and gallery that is for sale.

Morning after the storm...

ŁAnd this morning, this is the view of the St Lawrence from my hotel window.

Way in the distance, you can just see a few of the marching statues.
I think we'll be flying today!

And then the storm blew in!

Show was all done and we spent a last night in Trois Pistoles and that night the wind started kicking! Rain turned to sleet and it was a blustery night.
Dave and I were the only two who were still about and kicking, so it was supper for two.
Off to the Mont Joli airport the next morning and all is fine, oops, flight delay. Oooooopppppps, flights all cncelled. So off to a hotel close by and it's another night here in la Belle Province.
Bleak, grey, windy and cold.
But I went for a walk anyway. On the taxi ride over, I couldn't help but notice that this is an artists town, with galleries lined up along 'la Route des Arts' which is the Main Street...who could resist, and a little rain/sleet wasn't going to deter this Alberta girl!
The church on the Main Street...very old and lovely
Even the sea side cabins have art decorating the yards!
A lonely stretch of sea front

At the first gallery of the 'walk', is the Centre d'Art Marcel Gagnon. He is the creator of a huge piece of installation art...with 100 sculptures 'walking' out of the sea...all unique and all fraught with emotion.
The side view of the Gallery.
A quick shot through the rain lashed window in the restaurant in the gallery where I warmed up with a cappuccino!

Trois Pistoles, Quebec

Judging here was such fun. The judges were housed in a gorgeous B&B where we enjoyed the hospitality of Pascale, an amazing chef and a fellow artist. Some of her pieces hang on the walls and she brought up a piece she is just finishing from her studio.
The yard view the first day
Pascale with her painting of Ali and Sonny L.

Rosario Dog Show

Lovely lounge area for the judges
Amazing building that used to be a train station and has been converted into a multi use facility that houses not just the dog show but music events, including a Ricky martin concert.
What a great place to judge
(L-r) Hans, Olga, Francesco and Gunnar. After the Show on Saturday, the Club Members took us to the Rosario Opera Restaurant, which is part of the Opera House! Fabulous food and a special treat...we got to sneak in and enjoy part of the production of Don Giovanni which was playing at the time!!

Our last night in Rosario we went to a restaurant and ate a'familia of a great number of traditional dishes...delicious!
Marcella and Daniel...our beautiful hosts! Francesco is sitting beside Daniel.

Rosario - about 3 hours out of Buenos Aires

The second largest city in Argentina. The dog show is being held here and all the fun begins tomorrow.
But first a little shopping!
Again the buildings and the decorative flourishes make me smile.

Heading to the walking street where you can find anything and everything!

The entrance to the big store that is lots of smaller venders all under one roof
A textile and fabric shop

Such a cool entrance

Let's go shopping - this so reminds me of Paris
Love this street
